The Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources is a standing committee of the Senate. It is chaired by Mike Lee (R-UT), with Martin Heinrich (D-NM) as ranking member. Like every congressional committee, it does the detailed work the full chamber cannot: holding hearings, marking up bills in its jurisdiction before they reach the floor, and overseeing the executive-branch agencies it covers.
