The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs is a standing committee of the Senate. It is chaired by Tim Scott (R-SC), with Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) as ranking member. Like every congressional committee, it does the detailed work the full chamber cannot: holding hearings, marking up bills in its jurisdiction before they reach the floor, and overseeing the executive-branch agencies it covers.
